Phil Rosenthal to Host Live Show in Hong Kong

Netflix News

Phil Rosenthal, the television host and creator of the Netflix series Somebody Feed Phil, is returning to Hong Kong for a live show filled with travel anecdotes. Known for his love of food, travel, and humor, Rosenthal’s Emmy-nominated show has garnered a devoted following. This event will take place at Kitec in Kowloon Bay on October 11.

Rosenthal previously hosted the travel and food series I’ll Have What Phil’s Having, with one episode filmed in Hong Kong showcasing his dining experiences with dim sum and seafood. He has fond memories of filming in the city, recalling an amusing incident involving century eggs, a traditional Chinese delicacy. While filming at a hotpot restaurant, Rosenthal decided to eat a half of one of the eggs to show that it was not a big deal. Although he found it overwhelming, his reaction provided comedic relief for the crew and was included in the show.

In addition to century eggs, Rosenthal praises dishes such as the pork bao at Tim Ho Wan, the fresh seafood at Gateway Cuisine, and the incredible food at Yardbird. He expresses excitement over revisiting these eateries and discovering new culinary experiences in Hong Kong.

While Rosenthal initially experienced stage fright when acting in plays and films, he thrives on interacting with his audience during unscripted shows. He appreciates the opportunity to be himself and connect with the people who come to see his performances.

Aside from his television career, Rosenthal is involved in philanthropic work through Somebody Feed the People, an initiative of the Rosenthal Family Foundation that supports organizations building communities through food. He has also authored a book called Somebody Feed Phil The Book, which became a New York Times bestseller. He is currently working on a children’s book titled Just Try It!, co-authored with his daughter.

Don’t miss “An Evening with Phil Rosenthal Live In Hong Kong” on October 11 at Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. Tickets can be purchased on the Premier HK Ticketing website.
