Is Line of Duty Coming Back? Cast Members Hint at a Seventh Season

News WhatsApp

Fans of the hit TV series Line of Duty are buzzing with excitement after news broke that the cast members are in a WhatsApp group with the name “Line of Duty 7.” The show, created Jed Mercurio, last aired in 2021, concluding major storylines and uncovering corruption within the fourth-man conspiracy.

While the previous season wrapped up most of the loose ends, fans have been holding out hope for another season. Actor Martin Compston, who plays DI Steve Arnott, recently revealed that the cast members have an active WhatsApp group, and Jed Mercurio has changed its name to “Line of Duty 7.”

During an episode of the Restless Natives podcast, Martin shared, “This happened a long time ago because there absolutely is no immediate plans. Jed’s on strike, we’re all filming different stuff. It’s just, we had a WhatsApp group called Line of Duty 6, and then just a while ago Jed changed the name of it to Line of Duty 7. But what I love about it is we’ve never spoke of it since.”

While Martin and Jed have previously stated that they would only make new episodes if there was a compelling story to tell, this recent revelation has ignited hope among fans. However, it is important to note that there are no immediate plans for a seventh season, as Jed Mercurio and the cast are currently working on other projects.

As fans eagerly await any update on the return of Line of Duty, there is a glimmer of hope in the air with the mysterious WhatsApp group name change. Only time will tell if the show will make a comeback with another thrilling season.
