Here is an early preview of the Netflix Original movies, series, and specials that will be released globally in December 2023. While there are only a few titles announced so far, more will be revealed in the coming weeks.
One of the notable releases is “May December,” a drama directed Todd Haynes and starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore. It follows a married couple whose past tabloid romance resurfaces when an actress arrives to research their story.
Fans of the animated series “Hilda” will be excited to know that its third and final season, along with a special, will be available on December 7th.
“Leave the World Behind,” adapted from Rumaan Alam’s novel, is a drama written and directed Sam Esmail. It features a family vacation disrupted news of a cyberattack, forcing both families to confront their place in a collapsing world. The cast includes Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, and Myha’la.
A new entry in the beloved “Chicken Run” franchise is also coming to Netflix. “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget,” a stop-motion animated film, is voiced Thandiwe Newton, Zachary Levi, Bella Ramsey, and others.
Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” another highly anticipated release, is a biographical drama about Leonard Bernstein. It explores Bernstein’s lifelong relationship with Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein and stars Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, and Josh Hamilton.
Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon: Part I: A Child of Fire” is a sci-fi fantasy movie about a young woman seeking warriors from other planets to protect her colony from tyrannical armies. Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, and Anthony Hopkins are part of the cast.
A new stop-motion animated series set in the Pokémon world, “Pokemon Concierge,” will debut on December 28th. It follows the interactions of Haru, a concierge at the Pokémon Resort, with Pokémon and their owners.
There are also several non-English language originals, including the French action thriller series “Blood Coast / Pax Massilia,” the Hindi musical adaptation of “The Archies,” the Japanese live-action series “Yu Yu Hakusho” based on the popular manga, the Korean period drama “Gyeongseong Creature,” and the Spanish spin-off prequel to “Money Heist” titled “Berlin.”
