Aaliya Siddiqui, the estranged wife of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, recently announced that she is quitting social media in an effort to reduce her children’s phone usage. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Aaliya expressed her concern over the influence of social media on today’s generation and emphasized the importance of providing a healthy environment for her kids.
Aaliya revealed that her 13-year-old daughter, Shora, was becoming increasingly attached to her phone. Realizing the negative impact it could have on her daughter, Aaliya made the decision to quit social media herself. She strongly believes that parents should not spoil their children giving them unrestricted access to phones, as they are unaware of the kind of content their kids are being exposed to.
Living in Dubai, Aaliya acknowledged the modernity prevalent among kids in the city but felt the need to create a more suitable environment for her own children. She recognized that her own social media presence could influence her kids’ desire to be on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Therefore, she decided to not only quit social media but also step away from the industry and dedicate her time solely to her children.
To enforce her decision, Aaliya confiscated Shora’s phone, iPad, and PS5. Surprisingly, Nawazuddin Siddiqui fully supported her in this matter. Aaliya expressed her gratitude for his cooperation, stating that he recognized the importance of not giving phones to kids and commended her for making this necessary move.
Regarding their ongoing divorce proceedings, Aaliya shared that they are still in the process of finalizing the divorce, but the primary reason for their continued communication is their children. Despite Shora’s unhappiness with the situation, Nawazuddin plans to visit Dubai soon to personally address the matter and talk to his daughter.
