Karan Johar, renowned filmmaker and producer, has opened up about his past relationship and how it continues to influence his life. In a recent interview, Johar shared that his ex-lover is still very much a part of his family.
Johar has often mentioned that his personal experiences with one-sided love inspired his film, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. Speaking about this one-sided love, he expressed, “That person was completely sensitive to me and went through every beat with me with utmost sensitivity, so I can neither hate that person nor be indifferent towards them. Today, that person is very much a part of my family.”
Speculation arose when a Reddit user questioned who this ex-lover-turned-family-member could be. Many netizens speculated that it might be fashion designer Manish Malhotra, as they were together for many years.
Meanwhile, Johar marked his return to directing after seven years with the romantic drama “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film, released in July this year, became a blockbuster, earning over Rs 300 crore at the global box office. It received overwhelming positive responses from audiences and critics alike.
Alongside Singh and Bhatt, the film also featured veteran actors Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan, as well as a talented ensemble cast. The music for the film was composed Pritam, with lyrics Amitabh Bhattacharya.
