Five users on the social media platform ‘X’ have been booked for allegedly leaking clips of the yet-to-be-released movie of Shah Rukh Khan, titled Jawan. The handles that circulated the video are Aj@unknwnsrkian, Niteshnaveen@NiteshnaveenAus, Ghulammustaafk007@Ghulamn76512733, Arhaan@Arhaan05, and Whysoseriousl@surrealzack.
According to the police, the chief financial officer of Red Chillies Entertainment, Pradeep Nimani, lodged a complaint stating that the clips from the film, shared these ‘X’ handles, had gone viral on social media. The cast and crew of the movie were strictly prohibited from using any electronic devices on set during the shoot.
In an effort to have the clips removed, Red Chillies Entertainment had previously approached the Delhi High Court. The court not only directed the social media company to remove the content but also revealed the identities of the individuals handling the accounts that posted it.
Based on the details provided ‘X’, an FIR was registered under section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. The police are currently investigating the source of the leaked clips.
